Features to know about

Keeps the Trailer Steady in Crosswinds: Built-In 2-Point Sway Control

When you’re towing on the highway and a semi blasts past you, sway can get nerve-racking fast. The Blue Ox 2-Point Weight Distribution uses steel-on-steel friction between its rigid L-brackets and spring bars to limit that side-to-side motion. The built-in sway control reacts automatically, helping keep your trailer steady and in line so you can focus on the drive instead of fighting the steering wheel.

Levels Out Heavy Loads for a Smooth Ride: 12,000 lbs GTW and 1,200 lbs TW Capacity

If the rear of your rig sags when hooked up, it can throw off your handling and braking. This system applies leverage through its round spring bars to spread weight evenly across all the axles. With a gross towing weight of 12,000 lbs and tongue weight range from 800 to 1,200 lbs, it creates a controlled, level setup that feels planted and predictable on the road.

Straightforward Setup and Adjustments: 6-Hole Adjustable Shank Included

Dialing in the right height and angle is simple with the included 6-hole shank. You get up to 6.5" of rise or 2.75" of drop, so it’s easy to match your trailer’s coupler height. The 2-5/16" hitch ball comes pre-installed and torqued to spec from the factory, which saves time and gets you ready to tow right away.

Built to Last and Easy to Maintain: No-Drill Clamp-On Brackets

The clamp-on L-brackets attach along the trailer frame without drilling, making installation cleaner and helping prevent frame damage. They hold the spring bars firmly in place with no lift chains to rattle or wear. The entire assembly is made from powder-coated steel, giving it durability and corrosion resistance for the long haul.

Ready for Real-World Towing: Everything You Need in One Kit

The system includes the head assembly, adjustable shank, pre-installed 2-5/16" ball, spring bars, sway control L-brackets, and all necessary hardware. Weighing 95 lbs overall, it’s heavy-duty enough for serious towing yet simple to manage once installed. With its limited lifetime warranty, the Blue Ox 2-Point delivers confidence every time you hit the road.

Are you able to give anymore details about how this happened?

by:

The item was shipped but was lacking all of the pieces and parts needed for use. etrailer was excellent trying to locate the missing items but did not have them in stock. Return was easy but they could package them better for shipping.

by:

Product arrived in large receiver hitch sized box. Inside was packing paper, to take up space, and the original box the weight distributing hitch had come in. The original box looked like it had been dropped off a loading dock 3 or 4 times before being put in larger box. Large box had no damage, what so ever. All parts were loose in the bottom where they'd come out of the damaged box. Fortunately, all parts were there. In summary, I got what I ordered fairly quick, but sturdier packaging would be nice.I will order from etrailer again.

by:

Was a little confusing putting all together. A step by step video actually installing would work amazing. Other then that it work amazingly.

Works great

Hey Erin. That doesn't look good at all. I am going to get on this and get this taken care of for you.

by:

I am very happy with the product, but more care or thought needs to go into the shipping process. The cardboard box fell completely apart and the delivery guy just left it in a pile on the sidewalk. Only a few small nuts were missing and I had them in my shop. Nothing important was missing.

by:

Purchased to use with new camper we purchased. Received yesterday and assembled it. Looks great, just waiting to pick up camper to complete installation.

by:

So far so good. Brieann C was a great help. I get to install this new hitch next weekend to pull my new travel trailer. Box had one hole in it but all the parts were there. Also a great price!

by:

Well built and helps distribute weight to front wheels for better traction on steep gravel roads in the mountains. It also stabilizes the trailer on rough uneven roads at higher speeds.

  • Is It Normal For Edge Of L Bracket On Blue Ox 2-Point BLU44XR To Wear A Lot?
That is not normal wear for the L-Brackets on your Blue 2-Point # BLU75FR to be that worn. It looks like you have too much angle in the head, so I recommend trying to tilt the L-brackets a little to try and get the bar less on just that one edge, and verify your system is rated correctly for your trailer. The tilting of the head is used to add tension to the spring bars so it's possible your spring bars are underrated for the tongue weight your using it for. With all of that said for...

Hello again, Doug. Thanks for providing all that detailed info. It definitely helps! You are on the right track with the 12K Blue Ox 2-Point Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control # BLU75FR. This will work on trailers with a tongue weight between 800 and 1200 lbs. It sounds like you will be right within this range at all times give or take the weight of your propane tanks. The weight distribution hitch itself weighs about 95 lbs. Just keep in mind the L-brackets must be places between...

  • Best Weight Distribution Hitch For 2025 R-Pod 171
Hello Thomas, thanks for reaching out. Blue Ox and Reese are both solid options for a weight distribution hitch. Between the two I would lean towards Blue Ox, just because their systems tend to be a bit more user-friendly and they will offer better results. For your 2025 R-Pod 171 I recommend the Blue Ox TrackPro # BLU36FR. This is made to work on trailers with a tongue weight between 200 and 600 lbs. With your tongue weight being 360 lbs you will be right within that range at all times....

  • How Does Blue Ox Sway Pro Weight Distribution Reduce Trailer Sway
Hey Rod, good question but basically all weight distribution have sway control built in by the way they move some of the trailer's tongue weight up to the front axle of the tow vehicle but more specific to the Blue Ox part # BLU75FR there is friction sway control built into the head of the system where the bars attach to the head. So when you make a turn at all the spring bars have to rotate in the head of the system so the friction that is created there works to slow down and prevent any...

  • Are There Replacement Spring Bars Available For Reese 49904 Weight Distribution System
Hey Yves, I can absolutely get you back on the road with a working weight distribution system, but unfortunately it won't be with your existing Reese 49904 model. This particular system has been discontinued and is no longer being made. We no longer have any replacement parts for it, including the spring bars that you're needing. Hey Gary, so I looked up the weight of your 2022 Flagstaff Micro Lite 21FBRS and based on that the best weight distribution and sway control option is the Strait Line part # RP66083 which has a tongue weight range of 400-800 lbs and features best sway control at fighting sway before it starts as it works to keep the trailer in a "straight line" as much as possible.

  • Should Chevy Silverado Towing at Top of Towing Capacity Use a Weight Distribution System
Hey Dave, since you are sitting right at the max towing capacity for your Chevy Silverado I would highly recommend a weight distribution system for your 4 hour drive. You'll probably make it there without one if you really wanted to but you are going to be much safer for braking and handling if you go with a WD system like the Blue Ox part # BLU75FR which is on the lower priced end of the spectrum and will get the job done well for the one time you'd move it. Have you used WD before?

Hey Anthony! The shank that comes with your part # BLU75FR hitch gives you up to 2.75 inches of drop, so if your new Ram 2500 sits higher and your trailer’s nose is pointing up, that’s probably not enough. I recommend the 12" shank Blue Ox part # BXW4003. It gives you up to 4.5 inches of drop, which is 1.75 inches more than your current one. • No Drill Weight Distribution System Recommendation for Trailer with 1,000 lb Tongue Weight
Hey Christopher, so all of the WD systems that have friction sway control will require drilling into the trailer frame for at least just the sway control as that's how it attaches to side of trailer frame but I do have a similar solution that I think you'll like. I would go with a system that has friction sway control built into the spring bars like the Blue Ox part # BLU75FR which has friction sway control built into where the spring bars attach to the frame brackets. This is also correct...

Hey Michael, I'd recommend going with the B&W Continuum Weight Distribution System w/ Sway Control # BW28FR instead. I have a possible solution, but none of the 14-16" extensions have a high enough capacity. The only thing that comes close is the Gen-Y # GY89SR which has a gross towing weight of 10,000 lbs, but the max tongue weight is only 500 lbs. This would also reduce the capacity of your hitch by 50% like many hitch extenders do. • Is The Blue Ox 2-Point Weight Distribution # BLU75FR Correct for a 2023 Keystone Springdale 282BH?
Yes, the Blue Ox 2-Point Weight Distribution # BLU75FR is going to be the correct hitch for towing your 2023 Keystone Springdale 282BH. This hitch is rated for a trailer with 800-1,200lbs of tongue weight and a GVWR of 12,000lbs or less. The dry tongue weight on your trailer is 690lbs from the factory. Once the dealer installs a 50lb battery and fills the two 20lb propane tanks this will quickly increase your tongue weight to roughly 780lbs. As your main cargo area is also on the front...

  • Replacement Suspensions Components For A 1993 Bigfoot B-17 Travel Trailer
Hi Alex, The correct way to measure your leaf springs would be to lift the trailer by the frame and let the weight of the axle hang to take the pressure off of the spring and then measure across eye-to-eye. Following the curvature of the spring will give you a longer length. Your axle being 2-3/8" in diameter would indicate that it's likely rated for 3,500lbs so within that weight class we have a few different lengths: 23-1/8" # e59SR 25-1/8" # e54SR 25-1/4" # DX23CR 27" # e97SR Based...

Actually to find the correct weight distribution hitch for your cargo trailer with a 7000lb GVWR you will want to find its total tongue weight, as that will tell you which weight spring bars you need to properly redistribute the weight.
